Cấu trúc nằm lòng cho Writing Task 2

Phân bổ thời gian trong Writing Task 2 lúc nào cũng là một chiến lược quan trọng cần chuẩn bị trước khi vào phòng thi. Hôm nay, Cô sẽ chia sẽ các cấu trúc cần nhớ áp dụng được cho tất cả các dạng bài trong Writing Task 2, các em hãy ghi nhớ kỹ nhằm đỡ tốn kém thời gian suy nghĩ ngữ pháp của mình nhé.

Những cấu trúc này cực kì đơn giản và dễ sử dụng. Cô hy vọng các em sẽ đạt được điểm mình mơ ước nha.

Discussion Questions

Introduction: Short and simple. Just write 2 sentences:

• Introduce the topic
• Introduce the 2 points of view (only give your opinion if the question asks for it)

 There are advantages and disadvantages of… (but in my opinion…)

Paragraph 1: First Point of View / Advantages

• … has several benefits. (Introduce the first point of view)
• Firstly, Secondly, Finally, (Use this structure to organize several points)
• For example, (Try to give an example for one of your points)

Paragraph 2: Opposite Point of View / Disadvantages

• On the other hand, some people would argue that… (Introduce the opposite idea) OR: On the other hand, I would argue that… (if the question asks for your opinion)
• Furthermore, (Develop the idea)
• For example, (Give an example)

Conclusion: Summarise the ideas. Give your opinion if the question asks you for it: In conclusion,… (Summarise)

OR: For the reasons mentioned above, I believe that… (Your opinion if the question asks for it)

Opinion Questions (Agree or Disagree)

Introduction: Short and simple. Just write 2 sentences:

Introduce the topic Give your opinion:

• I agree / disagree with the idea that… (one-sided argument) OR:
• There are good arguments both for and against…, and I believe that it depends ..

(balanced argument)

Paragraph 1:

• The main reason .. is that… (First reason you agree or disagree) OR:
• To a certain extent I agree that (One side of balanced argument)

(Explain and give an example)

Paragraph 2:

• Another reason .. is that… (Second reason you agree or disagree) 

OR: 

• However,… (Another side of a balanced argument) 

(Explain and give an example)

Conclusion: Repeat your overall opinion:

For the reasons mentioned above, (+ Your opinion)

Problem/Solution Questions

Introduction: Short and simple. Just write 2 sentences: It is certainly true that… (Introduce the problem)

There are several reasons for this problem, and various measures can be taken (by governments/ individuals/parents/schools etc.) to improve the situation.

Paragraph 1: Problems / Causes / Reasons

(Problem) may be caused by a variety of factors.

Firstly, Secondly, Finally, (Use this structure to organize several points)

For example, (Try to give an example for one of your points)

Paragraph 2: Solutions / Measures / Suggestions

The best way to solve this problem would be to… (Suggest a solution)

Governments/individuals/parents/families (etc.) should/need to… because…

(Develop the suggestion and give a reason)

In addition / Also / Alternatively, (Add another suggestion)

For example, (Give an example)

Conclusion: Summarise the problems and solutions:

In conclusion, governments/individuals (etc.) should tackle (Problem) by… (Suggestions)

If these measures are taken, …will… (Predict the result of your suggestions – this is optional but it’s a nice way to end)
